The "Elrite Hoeve" is a small breeding and performing studfarm of KWPN horses in the northern part of the Netherlands. On average there are approximately 15 KWPN horses at the farm. All the horses are related to the mare Orite and the Rite-breedingline (Holsteinr. 1859).

Goal
The aim of the Elrite Hoeve is to breed (top)horses in potential suitable for sports at the highest level, with appealing exterior and durability.

History

In the late 1960, six mares from Holstein where imported in Holland. Among these six horses was the mare Elrite, Holstein line nr. 1859. From Elrite evolved three generations later, Zelrite (Senner). With Zelrite started Mr. Wichers the Aduard the Rite breeding line. From the mare Zelrite the sport horse Spock and at least two successful breeding lines evolved. The line described in this site is from the mare Orite (Courville xx X Zelrite (Senner)).

The other 'succesful' line is from the mare Velrite (Erdball xx X Zelrite (Senner)) [of spring among others Maserati and Orestus (Indoctro X Celrite (G. Ramiro) x Erdball)]. This line by continued by H. Maaesen in Maasbree.

General The off spring of Orite are to be known for there expressiveness heads, their relative slow development but healthiness till high age and their nice characters. Most horses at Elrite Hoeve are in general of moderate height (average 1.65 m), chique and correctly built. During the generations, the pedigree is carefully built on exterior achievements and correctness.
